Stevanato Group Foundation

Stevanato Group’s history has its roots in the foundation of Soffieria Stella in Zelarino, near Venice specialized in the production of glass bottles. In 1959, the glassware factory moves to Piombino Dese, closing a few years later.

OMPI is established

OMPI is established

Ompi, the specialist in glass primary packaging is born in its current location in Piombino Dese, Padua. A few years later, leveraging on its in-house technological competencies brought in by Spami, dedicated to the production of glass converting lines, the company will develop a unique expertise in the production of high-quality glass primary packaging.

SPAMI Foundation

Spami is established in Piombino Dese. It is a company specialized in the design and production of high-speed, high-precision glass forming lines to obtain high-quality containers from tubing.

ALFAMATIC Acquisition

ALFAMATIC Acquisition

Stevanato Group acquires a manufacturing plant for glass containers in Latina, Italy.

MEDICAL GLASS Acquisition

MEDICAL GLASS Acquisition

Medical Glass, a glass container manufacturing plant based in Slovakia, joins Stevanato Group and marks the first step of the internationalization process.

SG EZ-fill® Kickoff

Start-up of the manufacturing of sterilized glass containers: EZ-fill®

A new department dedicated to the production of EZ-fill® ready-to-fill, sterilized syringes, opens in Piombino Dese. It is soon followed by the opening of dedicated production departments for ready-to-use vials and cartridges.

Optrel acquisition

The Group acquires Optrel, an Italian company specialized in the manufacture of inspection machines for glass containers for pharmaceutical industry.

Greenfield in Mexico

Greenfield in Mexico

Stevanato Group opens its first greenfield site in Monterrey, Mexico.

Greenfield in China

Greenfield in China

A new commercial office opens in China in 2012, and a new plant manufacturing glass container in Zhangjiagang is inaugurated a few years later.

InnoScan Acquisition

InnoScan acquisition

Stevanato Group acquires InnoScan, a Danish company who specializes in the production of high-speed inspection systems for complex drugs.

SG Lab Foundation

SG Lab Foundation

The Group starts up its internal laboratory dedicated to perform analytical services to study the interactions of drug and containers.

SVM Acquisition

SVM acquisition

The Danish company SVM, specialized in assembly and packaging equipment of medical devices is acquired.

Balda Acquisition

Balda acquisition

Stevanato Group acquires Balda, a company with manufacturing facilities in Germany and California, specialized in plastic development and manufacturing for diagnostic consumables, drug delivery systems and medical components.

Greenfield in Brazil

Greenfield in Brazil

A new glass container manufacturing plant, the third greenfield project of the Group, is opened in Sete Lagoas, Brazil.

Opening the Commercial office in Japan

A commercial office to be closer to the local customers is opened in Nagoya, Japan.

Expanding production capacity for syringes

Expanding production capacity for syringes

The Group expand its premises in Piombino Dese, with a new production plant on an area of 17,000 sq meters for the manufacturing of syringes.

US TEC Opening

SG US Technology Excellence Center will open in Boston, Massachusetts to provide Biopharma companies with integrated analytical services and effective project management for drug development and commercialization.
